Crazy Costas

The Philadelphia Eagles versus the Dallas Cowboys game was on NBCs Sunday Night Football, so I was watching the game. Eagles lost. But the part of the game I want to talk about here is the one where NBC gave Bob Costas time during halftime to speak his opinion on the murder/suicide involving a NFL player. For those of you who do not know that story please go here.
Now onto the Bob Costas editorial. He is not even intelligent enough to write his own stuff, he let's a Sports Reporter from Kansas City write a story, then he reads it to a Sunday night national audience. See it here.
“Handguns do not enhance our safety. They exacerbate our flaws, tempt us to escalate arguments, and bait us into embracing confrontation rather than avoiding it. In the coming days, Jovan Belcher’s actions, and their possible connection to football, will be analyzed. Who knows?"
“But here,” wrote Jason Whitlock, “is what I believe: If Jovan Belcher didn’t possess a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.”
Costas agrees with Jason Whitlock.  No one has ever been killed without a handgun EVER. OJ Simpson? Remember him?

The best part of the entire Costas debacle was how fast the conservative media jumped on this attack on the 2nd amendment. Michelle Malkin immediately tapped her Facebook, the Tea Party was out in 8 minutes with a post on Facebook, other started cruising out and peppering the Internet. WAY to go conservatives.

Costas makes no mention of the booze, pain killers and concussions of this young man, no mention of the NFLs concussion policy disgrace. Costas blames the inanimate object in the room. Maybe a league that can not get a franchise in Canada because there are so many convicted felons(currently at 32) on teams that travel games would be limited by Canadian border laws. (No convicted felons)

Costas was plain wrong and I hope he suffers in the ratings. Maybe Costas should stick to Sports analysis and leave the 2nd amendment discussions to the adults in the room.

    Welcome back, Danny!

Yeah, Costas is a schmuck but I don't follow sports so my opinion doesn't really count.
