Lancaster Mayor in the news today.

Simple thing is, his law is illegal, and he knows it. BUT, because of my biggest enemy, Qualified Immunity, he and his government can not be sued for not following the law. So this bill allows citizens to sue a City, Township or Borough for the inconvenience of me getting busted for passing a illegal law.
This reminds me closely of the Myrtle Beach motorcycle helmet law in South Carolina. South Carolina knew it has jurisdiction of this law, but it could not stop Myrtle Beach from handing out oodles of tickets and fines for people inconvenienced by the local LEOs. The State Supreme Court 3 years later over ruled the local rule, but the damage was done.

We, as legal law abiding licensed gun owners, already have to know the over 50,000 gun laws in the 50 States and Districts of the United States. NOW you would be required to know the laws of every individual township in each state? I think there are over 3000 municipalities in PA alone.

Think about the folks arrested in NY City lately, all licensed law abiding people, EXCEPT in nanny NYC. Now multiply that by 1000s. Anarchy?

This explains a lot about how NJ got the way it is! It might take you a few minutes to read, but I had a light bulb moment after I read it. Worth reading through. We will wait a while for Shall Issue in that State.

That was still not enough for the supreme court. In what became known as Abbott IV, the judges declared Whitman’s plan unconstitutional and ordered the state to fund poor districts generously enough that their per-pupil spending would be the same as in the state’s wealthiest districts—which were among the richest in the nation. The court also ruled that the state had to pay for a menu of new social programs for kids in poor districts (now called “Abbott districts”).

There are some incredibly rich neighborhoods in the State.

The spending has depended, of course, on a massive redistribution of wealth, which has left many towns big losers.

Hopefully you know this is President Obama's plan?

One thing is clear: somehow, New Jersey needs to rein in its judiciary if it hopes to get its house in order. The state will never be able to solve its fiscal problems until its highest court sticks to interpreting the law, not inventing it.

If it ignores the rulings of the SCOTUS, how is that interpretation?

I was perusing the Internet and found something old that really took me back. I owned this Bazooka in the add below. It was cool as hell. My father won the Sacred Heart Church's weekly or monthly cash drawing and he and my mom spent a ton on us that Christmas. I used it mainly for messing my 2 older sisters hair. I didn't remember the name of it, I just called it a Bazooka. I wore the damn hat, too! This is back in the days when our neighborhood teamed with kids all carry toy guns (without orange tips) and played army all day long. As we got older we switched to BB guns, then the screams of , "You missed me, were lessened." Oh the shame...

I truly love cops, I want everyone out there to know that. I, on the other hand, hate with all my passion and emotion BAD COPS! I do not post this to get anyone angry at good, hard working police officers. They number in the 95% area by my count. I do have a problem with the GOOD cops covering up for the BAD ones. It is my belief that most of the good ones know who the bad ones are, and because of the CODE they share, they say nothing, lie, cover up and deceive.

It has to stop. People need to believe in law enforcement. Crap likes this makes people who don't think like me HATE cops. The vast majority do not deserve that, but they need to clean their own house when it's needed.

What are your plans for Valentines Day? Nice night out with the person you love? How about a quick stop into Starbucks? Why? Well it is a long story, but it is about freedom, and you know how much I love freedom.

Starbucks has chosen to NOT get involved in infringing the rights of it's customers and will serve you coffee even if you are legally carrying a gun. (Openly or Concealed if legal) The nasty, dare I say militant ultra left wing, anti gun group National Gun Victims Action Council (NGVAC) has declared that the world should boycott Starbucks on Feb. 14th, Valentines Day. This group is a wayyyyyyy left fringe of the already left of Mao Brady bunch with most of their members being Brady board members.

The ask is easy. Go to Starbucks. Buy a drink of your choice. Buy a bag of coffee to spoil yourself. Before you leave, leave a 2 dollar bill in the tip jar. 2 dollar bill, for 2nd amendment support. Now that might mean going into your secret place and breaking out that hidden 2 dollar bill, or asking for one at your bank, or a bank. But it will send a loud and clear message.

This group of anti's has picked the fight, they want to do it with boycotts. We have to rise up and defeat the thinking of these folks so they know who they are up against. If we do, they will lose and lose HUGE. In Facebook count, the NGVAC had 140 people sign on, before they removed that dreary number from view. I think in the same time period, the gun friendly Facebook Starbucks site drew over 4000 people. (I don't have a Facebook)

I have a love/hate relationship with her. I love that she is writing about her travel through the, IMHO, illegal DC rigamarole, but I can't stand how much she is obviously enjoying her notoriety. I have seen her on Cam and Company on NRA news, I have read her story, and truly, she can be a little whiny to my ears. So lately I turn her off. She really can talk the balls off a brass monkey. She never shuts up.

So I'm not a big fan, flame me. And if you watch the video, look how she talks to the idiot. She says, "It's only 3 rules," then admits after learning them, that she didn't follow them, playing right into the guys hands. To much mouth and not enough head!

Supposedly Billionaire extraordinaire. and Mayor of New York City. Mike Bloomberg is buying some advertising time on NBC this Sunday to taught his anti gun bullshit! I don't have any problem with his spending his money on lies, and I respect his first amendment rights to do so.

I truly think he is our worst nightmare. He is a army of one, with incredible deep pockets. I would have thought after all the bad publicity NYC received after locking up 4 people for gun violations that he wouldn't double down and call out his idealistic approach to gun ownership. He has partnered with his buddy the Mayor of Boston, Tom Menino, to use the NYC/NE Stupid bowl as the backdrop. Both are members of Bloomberg's MAIG, Mayor Against Illegal Guns. I have to openly admit he has HUGE balls to spend this money when the country overwhelmingly does not see guns as a major issue right now. Law Abiding folks already go through a back ground check, but Bloomberg wants more, he wants to have all long guns registered and recorded. He is a crazy ideologue with incredibly deep pockets.
I hope that the NRA/SAF/GOA/JPFO and every other gun association in the country calls him out for what he is, and spends money accordingly to defeat every member of his crooked group.

I was following this 4th amendment case very closely. In this case, law enforcement placed a GPS tracker on this guys car, with ZERO warrant from a judge, and "followed his every move" for over a month. Then they busted him.

This is a gross miss use of law enforcements ability. I try to explain to people what if it happened to you? What if they decided to track any Acorn members? Or NRA members? How about Lutheran Religions, or Baptist? You say it couldn't happen??? Do you?? I say, look at the "legal" roadblocks that cops set up to supposedly stop drunk driving. (Follow the money)
Gambling? In my house, illegal. State Lottery, Legal. Gambling in my home, illegal, start a casino, allocate a huge tax to State, legal. Are you getting it? Governments will do anything they want if WE THE PEOPLE allow them to get away with it!!

This past Saturday, my wife and I took the NRA Range Officer class in Valley Forge, PA
For those of you who do not know of it, below is a description.

The NRA Range Safety Officer program was developed in response to the demand for a nationally-recognized range safety officer certification. NRA Range Safety Officers are people who possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude essential to organizing, conducting, and supervising safe shooting activities and range operations.

This course does not encompass the functions and responsibilities of a Range Officer, who conducts NRA competitive shooting events as defined by Rule 11.5 of the NRA Rule Books.

NRA Range Safety Officers must be 21 years of age or older.
The Range Safety Officer course consists of: Range Safety Officer’s roles and responsibilities, range standard operating procedures, range inspection and range rules, firearm stoppages and malfunctions, and Range Safety Briefings which include emergency procedures. Candidates must also receive 90 percent or better on the written exam.

It was me, my wife and 4 other men. One man drove in nasty snowy weather from South New Jersey.
3 other men, who are Chief Range Officers taught the class. I found it interesting that they had a selection of just about every type of action for us to familiarize ourselves with. Rifles were clip fed, magazine fed, tube fed, single shots, etc. Shotguns were pump, auto, O/U, S/S, and single break open. Pistols were single action revolver, double action revolver, break open revolver and semi autos, hammered and Striker fired. They actually had 2 muskets also. One was flint, other percussion cap.
I had handled or had seen all of these in my past as a gun salesman, but it was nice to see them bring so many guns for display!

The reason my wife and I took this class? Because it was close and reasonably priced.
Will we ever use our status as Range Officers? Not sure, no plans on that yet!

I think you are brilliant. Only because I have been saying that for years. Nutter needs to train the law abiding folks. I have posted this exact brilliant answer in the Daily Times here in Delco in regards to Chester. Money should be spent on helping the people take back their city. A mobile target shooting trailer? Classes taught by mix of NRA certified and retired Philly LEOs.
And selling, at a deep discount, all the guns they have been melting down and discarding. (Have a gun turn in to help other who can’t afford them)

Down With The Ship, He Should Still Be There!

Some people I know have reached out to me about the Italian Captain of the Costa Concordia abandoning his ship/post . I have rescued a few folks in my days in the Coast Guard, and I found more hero's than zeros. Honestly, I never remember one time where the person who was responsible for the boat/ship wasn't the last one to leave. I have picked up people floating in life jackets, and some were dads with their family. Dad didn't know navigation rules, but he instinctively insisted we get his wife and kids out of the water before him. Broken down fishing boat captains, made sure their guests and crew were safe before stepping over onto the Coast Guard boat I was skippering. (Although I will admit, occasionally I would have a crewman on board to assist) I could sum up the ability of the skipper.

The story has taken over various web sites and editorials are now being written.
The Captain is now under house arrest.
The rules are simple and explained very well in this phone conversation dialogue between the Ships Captain and the Italian Coast Guard Captain of the Port. (Officer of the Day)

In a dramatic phone conversation released Tuesday, a coast guard official was heard ordering the captain, who had abandoned the ship with his first officers, back on board to oversee the evacuation. But Capt. Francesco Schettino resisted the order, saying it was too dark and the ship was tipping dangerously.
"You go on board! Is that clear? Do you hear me?" the Coast Guard officer shouted as the captain of the grounded Costa Concordia sat safe in a life raft and frantic passengers struggled to escape after the ship rammed into a reef off the Tuscan coast.
"It is an order. Don't make any more excuses. You have declared 'Abandon ship.' Now I am in charge."

"Listen Schettino," De Falco can be heard shouting in the audio tape. "There are people trapped on board. ... You go on board and then you will tell me how many people there are. Is that clear?"
But Schettino resisted, saying the ship was listing and he was with his second-in-command in the lifeboat.
"I am here with the rescue boats. I am here. I am not going anywhere. I am here," he said. "I am here to coordinate the rescue."
"What are you coordinating there? Go on board! Coordinate the rescue from aboard the ship. Are you refusing?" came the response.
Schettino said he was not refusing, but he still did not return to the ship, saying at one point: "Do you realize it is dark and here we can't see anything?"
De Falco shouted back: "And so what? You want to go home, Schettino? It is dark and you want to go home? Get on that prow of the boat using the pilot ladder and tell me what can be done, how many people there are and what their needs are. Now!"
The exchange also indicates that Schettino did not know anyone had died, with De Falco telling him at one point: "There are already bodies now, Schettino."
"How many bodies?" Schettino asks in a nervous tone.
"You are the one who has to tell me how many there are!" De Falco barks in response.
Schettino was finally heard on the tape agreeing to reboard. But the coast guard has said he never went back, and police arrested him on land several hours later.

Emphasis is mine above. Once a ship declares Abandon ship, the Coast Guard is in charge. BUT, the Captain is supposed to be the last one leaving their ship. Cowardice at sea, such as this, should not be tolerated. This Captains crew had to basically mutiny to get some things done. Some of the crew will face charges as well.

My opinion? He is responsible, for the wreck and the death of 11 of the 4300 people he was trusted to care for. I am only sorry that Keel Hauling is now outlawed for a sea punishment. Hanging from the yardarm, outlawed, too. 100 lashes? Out. He will probably get jail time. Doesn't seem like justice to me.

Like everyone else I get a bug up my butt occasionally! I was an elected official, I know how much power We the People have. You have to get out there and vote, and let them know you vote!
So when I tell you I don't travel or vacation in New Jersey, or when I tell you I will not enter the State of New York and spend one dollar there, I also tell them that. They don't care, really. But I feel better telling them why. So I write to Bloomberg, and Christi and Cuomo and give them a nice, polite reminder that I am only one, but I have the courage to write and let them know who I am and what I think. Sometimes I get a letter back, most times I do not. Lately, I have written to a number of New York elected officials and asked them how they allowed these 4 law abiding folks to be arrested and face up to 15 years in jail, or minimum 3 years? I ask them who in their right mind would want to come there, when basic Rights are over ruled by draconian unconstitutional laws?
The reason I am on this rant, is I got a e mail from the West Chester Chamber of Commerce asking me to come back to West Chester and shop. I had stopped shopping there when they sent a Constable to my house and placed a HUGE ORANGE sticker on my front glass storm door, saying they were there to collect a 65 dollar ticket or arrest me, mentioning cuffs,too ! TWICE..(My one sons name was co owner on the car, he parked there and it was 3:00 AM while he loaded musical equipment, I truly hate that you can get a parking ticket anywhere at 3:00 AM)
So, I paid the ticket for my son, and I sent letters to the Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary and the Borough letting them know their little town will not get one dime from me EVER again. This reminds of the guy arrested when his plane was diverted. He was flying into Philly, but weather shut down Philly. The plane landed in NJ, Newark. It was after midnight and he decided to get a hotel and fly into Philly following day. His weapon was legally placed in his luggage. He went to the get his luggage off the NJ airport luggage pickup and walked to a nearby hotel at the airport. Next day he walks back and LEGALLY declares his weapon AGAIN to get back to where he was going. He is arrested for carrying a weapon in NJ. No Shit!! No forgiveness for his decision, no where in the airport for him to store his luggage. He was guilty EVEN if he left his luggage there in the terminal.

Where is the common sense left in the world? There should be an appointed judge who has been tested to have a HUGE grasp of common sense. They should go to him or her and say the story. His gasp of, "That isn't fair" should be considered a final ruling that the government is occasionally stupid.

My day started with donating an old car to the Purple Heart guys and gals. It was a great old car, and had served us well, starting off as our first MiniVan. It had safely taken us on many trips to the North Myrtle Beach house. It toted 4 kids, my wife and I, and all the summer trimmings. Bikes, 4 of them, luggage for all, beach gear (Umbrella, chairs, towels, toys) other miscellaneous things.(Fishing gear, crab traps, and always more on the way home!)
So as it was being towed out for donation, I was having nostalgic thoughts of the good times we had as we, as a family, spent in that vehicle. 10 hours to South Carolina, each way. Trips to Grandmoms, with booster seats and car seats, and portable DVD players. It's funny how your memories work. It ran great and always started, can't ask for much more than that!! I will miss it a little!
Then it was time to disassemble the front outside Christmas decorations. Wearing only a long sleeve shirt and enjoying the sun warmed temps of 57 degrees. Ahhhhhh.
I am having trouble with my monster snow blower. The wheels will not roll. I tore it all apart and can not discern the issue. The gears are good, the skid plat is tight. But the wheels will not roll, they are seized. So now I have to send it off to the shop and wait for the big huge bill that always comes from doing this. But I have a long, long and then wide driveway and doing it by hand would take forever. So repair bill will come. Hope they can pick it up next week! Since it doesn't roll I can't load it into the bed of my truck. SUX, so add a pick up fee too!

My buddy Bryan had his hernia operation and I talked to him last night. He is doing good and has people watching him. I was going to get up there, but now maybe tomorrow. He is off his bike for 4 to 6 weeks. So his mileage will suffer this year. But if I know him, he will make it up with a couple cross country in 48 hours ride or something!

Hunters?? NRA Friends or Foes?

This is going to be a story of concern. There will not be a ton of facts in this story to back up my statements, so if you are looking for the facts, do the research yourself! A while ago I was approached by a friend who asked me if I wanted to join his hunting organization. It consisted of private property access of land that the organization owned that backed up to State Game lands. So, all the members were the only ones allowed access to this 40 acre property. Membership was limited. You could bring a trailer and a 4 runner up there, and shoot all day during non hunting season.

So after I looked around a bit at other property owners surrounding the game lands I noticed a pattern. This was being done all around this particular trek of State game land. Some of you reading this might call me naive, but it was a huge eye opener for me. So if all the property surrounding on all sides the State game is owned by private cliques, what happens to the normal "not invited" to the group hunters areas?

So let's go back to the hundreds of years ago when I hunted. The summer was spent driving to meet owners of the property who were farmers and cattlemen/sheep herders. You took a token offering of a case of beer or bottle of Jack Daniel, and you shook hands and asked permission to hunt on their property. You would always supply them with some of the kill, deer sausage, pheasant, turkey or whatever game you took. It was civilized and respectful. When I hunted deer it was on a persons property that owned the land, and we stayed with him in his house. The land owner loved the company. You would meet other people this private landowner liked and respected for various reasons. He was also quick to tell people they were not invited back, as I have witnessed. Show him that you were not gun safe, or not a good drunk and out you went with little fanfare.

Now to today, hunters are greeted by NO trespassing signs, no hunting signs! Guess who owns the ANTI hunting sign now a days? Other groups of selective hunters. Can you believe that??
So my story to you all today is be careful if you become one of these people, you are excluding and limiting gun rights/hunting option to the population. Because some younger guy can not afford 1000 dollars a year to join a hunting camp organization, doesn't make him not a hunter nor does it make you a better one. You become an exclusionist. You are selfishly cutting your self off from others.

The NRA has recently had a serious infusion of new members that are all about self defense. As more and more carry laws get expanding, and the NRA membership balances more to one side, I think there will be serious changes coming. Educating hunters that are members/Life members or higher to their exclusionary practices would be a step forward for the NRA to take now!

My sadness is that I know many people who could fill their freezer with fresh meat for the winter if they could get easy access to land. These are folks that need the meat, not hobby meat with a bonus, which is how I see the rich folks with hunting organizations and property. Even local to me, the Ridley State Park hunt is a lottery that you pay into, on top of your hunting license, so even the state is selective and finance driven.

Hunters/Sportsman/Archery/Self defense folks need to be INclusionary of one another, these cliques are what divide us and keep us fighting amongst ourselves. Wound like these enable our foes to freely pour salt in them and tear us down. Please let me know your thoughts?

Turned out to be a pellet gun. Sad. The parents want the cops to shoot to wound, their little angel was killed. I am saddened, but the cops, as I read it as reported, were correct. I am surprised it was only 3 shots honestly! More to this story will come out as it is a tragedy.

21 Incredibly Long Minutes

21 minutes. Think about that. That is how long it took police to get to a panic stricken young mother whose house was being invaded. The low life scum sucking criminals knew, in my humble opinion, that her husband had just died of cancer a week before. The scum attempted to gain access before by being the "sweet caring neighbor" and using that routine. But when cowards can't do it the easy way they will get help and attempt to force things. Scum sucker did and the young mom, with her child on her lap, shot the bastard with a shotgun.
Watch and listen to that audio recording on the link. I am glad I am not a dispatcher. I would not have said "I can't tell you what to do," I would have said, "Shoot the scum sucking bastard before he hurts you!"
I hope the woman gets relocated by police and the city.
In a completely ADD moment, years ago, before we had Castle Doctrine protections, the surviving members of the criminals family would sue the person who shot and killed/wounded their "Angel"!
Many people lost money defending their action against this opportunistic bastards and judges allowed for this civil liability. Now I have a question. Why couldn't this woman sue the family of this criminal who she had to kill, for raising a scum sucking child who lived to threaten and young 18 year old mom and her baby?? They obviously failed to raise him right. They didn't teach him the obvious child's lesson of right and wrong. Snowy Days

Looks like there will be a couple of scheduled rides this weekend in my area, of course they will both conflict at the same date and time. I am pretty sure this is on purpose as one dealer fights against another. But I am torn against which one to go to. One is the Chili Willy ride, and this will make 14 years for this ride. The other is the dealer I bought my bike at and my HOG clubs sponsoring dealer.
The weather on Sunday looks cold and possibly wet, so I want to choose well. Cold weather riding brings some lessons I have learned over the many years of riding year round.

Layers are good, as long as you don't look like the Michelin Man.
Heated gear is better. Expensive, but get a piece a year.(Gloved first IMHO)
A balaclava made for motorcycling is incredible. Cover that neck area.
Wool socks, heavy wool socks.
Shine your boots. Keeps wind and wet out.(And you look nice)
Warm up your bike at least 2 minutes if under 30 degrees. 20/50 weight oil is great, but heat it up.
Road salt will eat at your electronic plastics that are exposed. Wash it off sooner than later.

So me? I start with long johns, one piece, with flap seat. Then my jeans and wool socks. Then a long sleeve shirt and a sweat whisking t shirt under. Then on goes my boots, then my chaps. Add a fleece and then my leather jacket. Balaclava, helmet, glasses and last is my gloves. Start your bike then put on last stuff. Now go ride.

To recap, we have an agency under Holder's supervision that ran perhaps thousands of guns across the border without any attempt to keep track of them, to supposedly find straw buyers and their connection to the cartels. The ATF then tried to use the purchases they facilitated as evidence that the ATF needed more restrictive laws to impose on gun dealers. These weapons were used in hundreds of murders. When Congress challenged Holder on the operation, his staff at the Department of Justice offered a false statement that the ATF always attempted to interdict weapons before crossing the border, which they had to withdraw when documents began appearing that clearly contradicted it. Even to this day, Holder has told Congress that he has communications regarding Fast and Furious that he will not release to investigators in the House who have demanded them.
If all Holder has in defense of his performance and that of his Department of Justice is playing the race card in an attempt to bully his critics into silence, then he truly has no defense at all. With the families of 300 murder victims mourning deaths delivered by the ATF's weaponry, dismissing criticism of Holder's performance as attorney general as bigotry is not just despicable, it should be a disqualification for the office he holds.

WILMINGTON -- Two of Delaware's top police officers aren't expecting criminals to hand over their weapons Saturday at a taxpayer-financed gun buyback event at two local churches."We're not naive in thinking crime weapons are going be turned in," said Wilmington Police Chief Michael Szczerba. "There will be very few crime guns turned in, if any at all."

The state will give individuals a $150 prepaid debit card for a handgun, $200 for an assault rifle and $100 for shotguns and hunting rifles.

I am officially FAT! I am declaring myself a Fat man. There is no more hiding it. I am now a huge man. But I have turned on the Anti Fat switch and will attempt to do all the semi right things to lose some poundage! Ice cream celebration will be a pint of Jerry Garcia once a month! I will be walking outside in the neighborhood for a minimum of 30 minutes a day. Heavy rain and nasty snow will have me retreat to the treadmill!I cranked out 5 miles on Sunday, and I'm not bragging, but it was easy! It's even nicer when my wife joins.

Goal 1, is to eat sensible meals, but same stuff. Lose 25 pounds and then reflect on next goal, which I'm guessing will be another 25 pounds. (And then reassess again.)

The reason I am sharing this is my post have been weak for the last 2 weeks, and I'm not an excuse maker, but that 30 minutes is about all I have in a day to spare!

I will keep you updated, but I keep hearing that fat and healthy is better than fat and unhealthy. I quite drinking and cigarettes in this lifetime, now I have to beat my love of all food.

I should add that it is against the law in Pennsylvania to carry a weapon in a casino. So I am guessing that the hero of this story locked his weapon in his car while he and his wife gambled and won.
The casino was Harrah's in Chester, PA. A casino placed in the worst possible town in the entire state. I was not surprised that criminals watch people cash out some winnings and follow them to rob them.
But in this case the law abiding wise gent was ably armed and most likely shot the assailant!

1 Week Versus No Response At All

I contacted both of my Federal Senators, Pat Toomey and Bob Casey, last week to ask for them to look and sign on to any Senate bill resembling the House passed HR-822 bill. Today, and might I say quickly, I received a response from Pat Toomey, copied below! I want to add that Pat Toomey sent me an automated response that informed me he received my email and he would respond in some time. I received nothing from Bob Casey. Today I received Pat Toomey's response. I am still waiting for Bob Casey to respond. I will keep an eye out for it. I think I can count Pat as a yes vote for National Reciprocity. He gets an "A" rating from me!

In states where concealed carry laws are liberalized, crime goes down, because criminals do not know who is “packing heat.” Criminals prey on the defenseless. That is why New Jersey’s “may issue” permit regs are grossly anti-Second Amendment and anti-self-defense.

The right to self-defense is a natural right of the people. Any attempt to restore that right should be applauded not condemned. HR-822 is a step in the right direction, finally allowing Americans to defend themselves no matter where they travel in the United States. For New Jerseyans, liberalizing the concealed carry permit process will reduce crime in high crime neighborhoods.

Limerick Township Police responded to the Philadelphia Premium Outlet Mall Saturday afternoon after receiving reports that a man displayed a handgun during a dispute over a parking space. Witnesses told police that a silver Nissan pulled in front of an SUV to take the parking space the SUV was pulling into.

1) I went to Grade School and High School with Bill Albany the Police Chief of Limerick! (Great guy)

Reininger turned down an offer that would have had him serve 90 days in jail if he pleaded guilty to four counts, the site said. Reininger rejected the deal because he did not want to have a criminal record, according to the site. He did not expect to be convicted because he thought he would be cleared based on federal law, the site said.

I am truly blessed, and I say that as honestly and sincerely as I can. I have an understanding wife, 4 healthy, intelligent sons, my siblings are all doing well and my mom is still alive. My wifes mother and father are well and still spry. My best friends wife has beaten cancer, although it took 10 years off him, he is back to smiling again. My other friend found a good job in the nick of time, and can keep his home.
Turkey Day will be in my home tomorrow. The house will be filled with all good things. Sites, smells and football, too. But mostly I will reminisce about how lucky I am. I am "Thankful" for many things, but the love of my family and good friends is number 1.

I will attempt to not eat until I pass out! It will be an Irish Thanksgiving feast. Tons of stuffing and gravy, broccoli casserole, tons of potatoes, yams, turnips, sweet potatoes and deserts you would die for!!! Oh yeah, we might have some turkey and cranberries, too..

With no real weapon to worry about, the responding officers gave the parents a lecture about how their children need to be careful when playing with a pretend firearm.

East Carolina University was locked down for about three hours Wednesday after people reported seeing a man with an assault rifle walking casually on a main thoroughfare near the Greenville campus.

The only problem is/was it was him carrying an umbrella!!!! There is that "Scarey Gun meme, and "ASSAULT RIFLE" OMG, be afraid, be very afraid. In this case it was not even a semi automatic rifle of any type, it was black though.

Greenville police, the state Highway Patrol and Pitt County deputies systematically swept the campus and nearby neighborhoods to search for the man.
When they found him, they determined he was not a threat.

What a serious waste of taxpayer dollars. My theory on this happening is more than half, or closer to 3/4s of the kids in the school have never seen, touched, fired a rifle to know what one looks like! I stand behind my theory that would have gun training in schools. We can teach about sex, we can teach about politics, why not about guns and gun safety?? My curriculum would include it in every 5th to 6th grade classroom.

Women Shooters Continue to Grow!

I have not met one woman in all my 55 years that did not enjoy shooting. I also find them incredibly gifted at it. They take instruction better and seem to have a natural ability to score well! But I am so happy to see this growing self protection market. This is why the pro gun side is truly winning. Any woman can easily balance the difference of power between a 6 foot tall, 250 pound man, and her little 5'4" inch, 100 to 140 pound woman frame. (Based on height variation.)

"Since 2001, more than 57,000 women have attended our (Women on Target) clinics across the country," says Rachel Parsons, a spokeswoman for the National Rifle Association. "And we know anecdotally from our NRA-certified instructors that they're seeing more and more women enrolling in their classes. Gun clubs are now having Ladies Night Out at the range. And shops are carrying more products tailored to women."

"Now the typical class is 40% to 50% female," he says.

Guys? I need you to share this story with your wife, mother, daughters, sister and any of their female friends. Even knights in shining armor can't be there all the time, let alone LEO's. Then after they have read it and said, "That's interesting," take them to the range!!

HR 822 Passes

I watched some of it on CSpan from my office, but I was driving on my way home and missed the final vote. My Congressman, Pat Meehan voted YES! Thanks to Pat will be sent via e mail and a hand written thank you card.

Occupy defines the First Amendment

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

I am not a lawyer, and you may not agree with me, but I believe the Occupy groups have the God given right to peaceably assemble as mentioned above. No where in the Constitution that I love and support does it say "Peaceably assemble but not more that 60 days"! Lately, people I know have been bad mouthing the occupy groups, and I get it. But they are following an established path that we better be careful not to lose. This First Amendment RIGHT can never, and should not be easily taken away.

Why am I bringing this up now? I always tell people that Freedom isn't free, that there is always a sacrifice. But, and not coincidentally by the way, the Mayors, who all happen to be Demoncrats, are evicting the Occupy groups. Oakland, Ca., Seattle, Portand and New York are getting the dismantlement treatment. I suspect Philly will be soon. It so happens that it was immediately after the Election cycle is over. Last Tuesday, remember? New Polls out show a majority of folks, most of whom have never been to an occupy site, are now against the cause. Demoncrats love their polls. Also, an occupy success occupy leaders held off the Unions and outside band wagon jumpers(Marxist, Nazis, communist, etc., etc., that the Demoncrats were hoping to bring their message to light. So, once the Demoncrats saw that the Occupy group could not be bought or thoroughly infiltarted, they used their close connections with the press, immediately after the election, and started hammering the group with lies and embellished statements.

Press news? Knives were found. Do you have a knife when YOU are camping? I sure do.
Unsafe conditions? Candles in a tent. OK, wow you got them now Mayor Squidward.
My personal favorite ? Hypodermic needles, later found to belong to a diabetic. Really?
But what about the kid pooping in the street in Portland? How disgusting? He was not associated with the group, but if the poop stinks, right?
So now you have lies about police safety, hazardous conditions and drugs!! But the press, long known by most to be owned by the Demoncrats, or left, is busy buying right in. Asshats!!!

The tide has turned, and I fear the end is near for the occupy group, but I hope they learn and maneuver to continue to educate.

They have 2 main beliefs.

1) Our government must be accountable to us, and corporations must be accountable to the government. We are saying definitively: We no longer live in a democracy, and we refuse to accept that. We seek an end to the collusion between corrupt politicians and corporate criminals, as democratic and capitalist institutions have become conflated. As such we must see major advances in the arena of the relationship between corporations, and people, on par with the amendments which outlawed slavery and assured civil rights to all people regardless of race, sex, or class.

I have explained to them about us being a Republic Democracy, but they won't change. But I can get how they could hate some of these corporate big wigs making millions a year, and they feeling like slaves. They are shut out from the elite ruling class of rich. I think all of us would like to do away with high paid lobbyist, wouldn't we? (Unless you are one, of course)

2) We must be accountable to ourselves. First and foremost, we are calling upon ourselves, and upon one another, to wake up and employ our power as citizens: to participate rather than observe, to raise our strong voices together, rather than complaining feebly in isolation. We cannot ‘whine’ about the injustices wreaked upon us if we have been complacent and silent in the face of these injustices. We must take responsibility for our own futures – and here at Liberty Plaza, that is exactly what we are doing, by modeling the kind of society in which everyone has a right to live. Here in Liberty Plaza, having lost our sense that we live in a democracy, we are reclaiming its practice.

They want their freedom back, they want true equality, and not in a communist way, not in a progressive way, it's in an entirely new way. I don't agree they will succeed in this, but I respect their freedom to go after their dreams.

Some of what the occupy folks support, I can easily get behind, some is way out there IMHO, but I fully respect their God given right to protest and to petition the government for change! I may not agree with them on much, but I fully support their right to do it!

I wouldn't want my freedoms taken away, would you?

I was down for the count yesterday. I got some chest pressure thing that had me making every attempt to NOT cough. If I coughed, I was going to cough for an hour. So I laid low all day. I hunkered down, hit the Advil when the fever came up and wrapped myself in blankets and watched TV. I feel better today after almost 11 hours of sleep. But the rant was building all day.

So let's kick it off, shall we? What started the woman hyphenating their name and adding it to their married name? I was told it was older well established woman who were lawyers and doctors that had a professional need to keep attached to their professional name. I get that, and it makes sense to me completely. But when do Administrative Assistants and cashiers at Wall Mart do it for?
The reason I am asking, is I noticed a poor boy who was named (Making it up to protect him) John Joseph Armidillo-Graft-Barrier-Cleft. His parents both were born to parents with hyphenated names and now he was born, and instead of arguing about possibly 1 name, they gave him legally all 4. I felt bad for him. I remember talking to my wife about this years ago, when one of her brothers wives adopted the hyphen. INHO, she didn't rise to the level of needing it. Is it a feminist thing? Is it the fact that woman realize that most marriages end in divorce?

It's really none of my business, but I heard the way that young boy tried to explain it to me, he was stuttering, like "Yeah, I know, my parents are freaks"!

Keep your name, take the mans name. In my world there is 2 choices. But for God's sake think of little Johnny!

F&F was a crackpot scheme hatched by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosive by which thousands of firearms were allowed to “walk” across the US-Mexican border and into the hands of the deadly Mexican drug cartels, with the weapons’ purchase and transfer aided by ATF agents under the supervision of the Justice Department.

Few public officials have been less forthcoming than Holder, whose constantly shifting excuses for F&F all boil down to: the dog ate my homework.

The Bush op was tightly controlled, with the illegal purchases conducted under tight surveillance, and was a joint Mexican-American endeavor. Plus, it involved only about 500 guns, some fitted with radio tracking devices. F&F, by contrast, involved thousands of guns, whose purchases were actively encouraged by federal officials and whose transfers across the border went deliberately unmolested. And it was kept secret from our Mexican allies.

I had the day off, I mean I took a vacation day, yesterday to celebrate Veterans Day with some friends in Media, Pa. They have a very nice parade and I get to see some old friends, make a few new ones and thank some WWII Vets. The parade was fabulous, and with the Vice President of the United States there, bigger than ever! It was 90 minutes long and incredibly touching to see the pride on so many peoples faces. Media did a nice job.

As the parade was ending I started to move over to where the speeches are made every year in front of the court house. I know the area pretty good and started to take a short cut to get there. 2 blocks away I met a Sheriff that told me all people had to enter through Jasper Street and Veterans Square. Then it hit me!! Vice President probably means metal detector or magnetometer. I walked over there waited in a short line, bent my head over to the security guy closest and said, "Do you have a place to check weapons here?" He looked up, didn't make any serious reaction and said, "Nope, we don't store nothing, we don't want to be responsible for it." So I had the tough choice of walking 10 blocks or more to my truck and locking my weapons in my vehicle gun safe, or not attend the event at the court house. I chose to not walk back to the truck. So for 10 years + I have attended this parade and enjoyed the general openness of it, now I was banned from participating because I legally carry a gun.

Now, please understand, I am not complaining about the VP being protected, but he is not a Veteran.
I wake up every morning, go through my routine, and like many people carry a gun. It is what I do everyday. Wallet in back right pocket, chained to belt, keys in front left , knife in front pocket, Iphone on left side, OWB holster on belt at 3:30 behind right hip. So me being armed is the norm in this story, the odd thing is the VP being at the Veterans Day Parade.

I did hear some of his speech, from 2 blocks away, and enjoyed watching the snipers and spotters watching the crowd from the roof of the court house. I love the Secret Service, I really do. If I had a Law Enforcement job, this would be the one I would want! I watched 3 or 4 of them at the corner I was standing at, they were very polite, yet vigilant. They cracked up, as did all of us, as a older man with an incredibly bad rug on his head walked passed. One of the agents remarked that he would have asked him to take the beaver of his head so he could scan it, we all laughed.
